Denis J. Kelly
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Denis has worked in virtually every capacity over 30+ years in the security industry, beginning as a front-line officer and rising to a C-level executive position. Having seen the industry prize growth through consolidation over client satisfaction, he joined Sunstates Security to help build a security firm that believed in organic growth and maintaining a client-first philosophy, while treating employees as the trusted partners they are. An All-American college baseball player, he earned a BA in sociology and criminal law from Eastern Connecticut State University. He is a member of ASIS International, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
Robert Rogalski
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
A 20+ veteran of the security industry, Robert has been a manager at all levels. He has overseen security for clients in many markets, including corporate campuses, financial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, commercial properties, malls, government, educational and industrial sites. To ensure Sunstates Security clients receive the highest possible level of service, he is dedicated to providing security officers with the education, tools and opportunities they need to excel. Robert graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta after studying Criminal Justice and Business Management. He is active in professional networking organizations, such as ASIS International, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
Robert Thurman
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Prior to joining Sunstates Security, Robert was responsible for the finances of the world’s second-largest uniformed security guarding and integrated technology services company. At Sunstates, he provides strategic insights, financial management and leadership to help Sunstates efficiently support security officers and clients. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Roberta Scoblick
VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING
Roberta began her security career 33+ years ago as a file clerk while earning a BS in marketing from William Paterson University in New Jersey. She has managed successful marketing campaigns for a variety of regional, national and international security firms, but far prefers Sunstates Security’s ability to answer to its clients, not shareholders. Roberta has not only helped Sunstates provide custom-tailored security solutions for individual customers but also helps clients network, learn from each other and share best practices. She holds professional memberships in ASIS International, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Community Association Institute (CAI), North Carolina Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (NCACLEA), and Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
Ryan Moran
VICE PRESIDENT, QUALITY ASSURANCE & TRAINING
Ryan began his career as a security officer, and over the past 20 years, his experience has spanned corporate offices and campuses, financial services, pharmaceutical, healthcare, retail, government, commercial real estate and industrial settings. He is responsible for multiple quality assurance programs and strategies at Sunstates Security, ensuring that Sunstates continually exceeds its mission with every client. He studied Law Enforcement Science at the University of New Haven in Connecticut. Ryan participates in industry organizations such as ASIS International, where he has served as regional chairman for three years and on the board for five years; the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA); and the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
Dave Kleiman
VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL COUNSEL
A licensed attorney with over a decade of experience in corporate law, workers’ compensation and benefits compliance, David joined Sunstates Security in 2017 as the Legal, Compliance & Risk Management Director. In 2021 he was promoted to Vice President, General Counsel to reflect his increased scope of responsibility. Dave manages a legal and compliance team responsible for all company and employee licensing, background investigations, and compliance audits, as well as providing legal support for the company. His expertise in contract drafting, HIPAA, data analysis, employee benefits and corporate and legal compliance make him a strong resource and essential member of the Sunstates Security management team. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He is licensed through the State Bar of Illinois and US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Shannon Lemond
VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
In April 2023, Sunstates Security promoted Shannon Lemond to her new Vice President, Finance role. Joining the team in 2008, Shannon started working part-time, completing various tasks such as filing, running errands, reception duties, and whatever else was needed. After obtaining her accounting degree, she joined the Sunstates team full-time.
Prior to her new position, as a Controller, Shannon was responsible for managing the accounts payable and receivable processes, overseeing payroll features, producing the financial statements, new job creation and setup, and being the Winteam guru. In addition to those tasks, now Shannon also creates the job level budgets each year, participates in annual Financial, Insurance and Benefits audits, maintains the balances sheet accounts, generates many customized reports, and more.
Kalvin Spells
VICE PRESIDENT, REGIONAL OPERATIONS
A seasoned security professional with over 30 years of experience in the service industry, Kalvin joined Sunstates Security as the Houston Regional Manager in 2016. He was promoted to Regional Director in 2017, a role in which he oversaw a portfolio of clients and operational assets across the states of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. In January 2021, he was promoted to Senior Regional Director with further responsibility for the states of CA, KS, NE, SD, and UT.
Gordon Sebree
VICE PRESIDENT, REGIONAL OPERATIONS
A long-term security professional, Gordon has over 40 years of experience in facility and information security, including 18 years in a management capacity. Prior to joining the private security industry, Gordon served 20 years in the US Navy as an Informational Technologist.
Joining the Sunstates team in 2018 as a Regional Manager, he was promoted to Regional Director and now his current role. Gordon oversees operations in many northeastern states, including CT, DE, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VT. He leads a large team of Regional Managers, Operations Managers, HR Specialists, officers, and more.
