Meet Toby Roberts, Site Supervisor, Kingsport, TN
Toby Roberts joined the Sunstates Security team when services were transitioned to us at the large, high-traffic facility in Kingsport, TN, in 2021. Toby is deeply familiar with the site; he has been working as a member of the security team there since 2001! We’re fortunate to have Toby’s leadership and expertise in guiding the team in Kingsport and the Roanoke region; his knowledge and dedication are invaluable assets.
Military Experience
Having eight years in the military under his belt, he gained valuable tools that would help his transition to the contract security field. Toby served five years on active duty with the Army and three years in the National Guard. During his time in the Army, he worked on power equipment and vehicles. Toby’s military service took him across the country, including Kentucky, Maryland, and Colorado. He also served a year at Camp Page in South Korea.
Sunstates Security
Toby has been a dedicated member of the site security team for an impressive 23 years. The client has fostered a welcoming and inclusive environment, making Toby feel like part of the family. This includes involving employees in company activities and celebrations and providing employee swag.
When asked about his experience with Sunstates Security, Toby highlighted the company’s hands-on approach, positive culture, and strong support system. He expressed gratitude for feeling valued and cared for.
Toby’s advice to aspiring security professionals is simple: work hard, maintain a positive attitude, and ask questions. He shares this wisdom with his own son, who is currently a security officer.
