SUNSTATES SECURITY SPONSORS NC STATE CYCLING TEAM

Sunstates Security is co-sponsoring the North Carolina State University (NCSU) cycling team for 2013. Sunstates President, Glenn Burrell, an avid cyclist, got to know a few of the NCSU riders during organized rides and was immediately impressed with their enthusiasm and dedication.

The club has operated for many years and for the 2013 season boasts 36 riders on their official roster. According to team Vice President and Textile Engineering Major, Matt Bruner, they aim to be a Top Three competitor in this year’s national NCAA championship.

Racing has been good this season with several wins competing against The College of William & Mary, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), The United States Naval Academy and Appalachian State University. This spring eight to 15 riders have traveled each weekend to various racing events. Out of 17 schools, NCSU’s team is one of only three in the Collegiate A category.
