Sunstates Security Promotes Scott McGillivray

to Business Development & Client Engagement Director

 

Industry veteran bridges sales and operations through open communication

Sunstates Security, a national security services firm headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., recently announced the promotion of Scott McGillivray to Business Development & Client Engagement Director.

“Scott is a true relationship builder and problem solver,” says Chief Operating Officer Denis Kelly. “He invests time to help clients and prospects improve their security and safety programs and then ensures that Sunstates fulfills those expectation through ongoing communication. The results of his efforts speak for themselves.”

McGillivray, who celebrated his 10-year anniversary with Sunstates on January 18, 2021, joined the firm as an Operation & Business Development Manager.

Before Sunstates Security

 After spending 15 years managing loss prevention for such firms as Filene’s Basement and TJX Companies, he joined a national supplier of luxury hardscapes, for which he led both the operations and sales programs.

“The ability to interview and interrogate people always served me well in loss prevention, and working in sales, it’s very similar,” says McGillivray. “When you meet somebody, you have a very short window to show them how you can help them. I loved working in sales, but I wanted to get back to security.”

Soon after, he discovered Sunstates Security on LinkedIn and met with Kelly and Sunstates President Glenn Burrell. “I really liked what the company stood for and how they truly live by their principles of honesty, integrity and trust. Today, I’m just as passionate as I was ten years ago. Coming from the industry, I know what I would expect as a client, and it’s great to see how hard Sunstates Security works to provide that quality of service.”
