Meet Sonya Hamrick, Site Supervisor

Glasgow, KY

 

 

Joining the Sunstates team in 2018, Site Supervisor Sonya Hamrick continuously proves to be an asset to our company. Her twenty-plus years in the military have established the diligent work ethic and commitment she brings to her site. We are excited to highlight Sonya’s successes, experiences, and words of wisdom in this article.

 

Military

Sonya spent 21 years in the Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Additionally, she served as a Hospital Corpsman with the Marines. While serving in the Marines, she did tours in Kuwait and Iraq. She said one of her most memorable experiences was being in Kuwait during the holiday season, stating, “Having Christmas dinner with Kuwaitians was a beautiful experience.”  She explained how the food and cultural encounter that evening was one she’d never forget. 

 

Sunstates Security

Sonya joined the Sunstates team in November of 2018. She is a Site Supervisor at a large distribution center in Glasgow, KY. One of her favorite things about being on the Sunstates team is being an active member of our Sunstates Mutual Aid Rapid Response Team (SMARRT). By doing this, Sonya has been able to visit different sites across the country, gaining new experiences while making extra cash.

Additionally, she enjoys meeting people from all over the country at her site. She is constantly communicating with our sales representative in the area regarding new opportunities to grow the market. Sonya is continuing her education and hopes to one day be an Operations Manager for Sunstates Security. She wants people joining the Sunstates team that there is potential to grow within the company, so stay involved.      

 

Personal

Sonya spends a lot of her spare time volunteering. She is actively involved with Lasagna Love, making lasagna and other hot meals for those in need. Additionally, she’s working on creating a safe haven baby box for the area. She expressed how important it is for people to give back to their community in any way they can.
