Year after year, Sunstates Security partners with The Salvation Army Wake County during the holiday season. This year, we supported them by donating to the WRAL Coats for the Children’s Drive. On Friday, December 15th WRAL had its annual telethon to raise funds to provide warm winter wear to children in the Triangle and eastern North Carolina.

During the 6 pm hour on the 15th, Sunstates matched donations up to $5,000, and we’re happy to share we wrote a $5,000 check to the Salvation Army Wake County. During WRAL’s telethon, which they’ve done now for over ten years, they raised over $140,000! Sunstates enjoys helping the community where we started over 25 years ago and has contributed to our growth and the national security provider we are now.

Coats for the Children’s Drive 2023: Why Give
Thousands of families benefit from the annual, major community campaign, a partnership between WRAL and the Salvation Army. In 2023, a Salvation Army representative stated that this year was really hard on the community and they needed more winter wear than ever.
“This year, the need is great due to many families experiencing economic extremes due to inflation to go along with our expected cold seasonal weather,” said Major Chuck Whiten, area commander of The Salvation Army of Wake and Lee Counties.
If you’re in the Raleigh area, please consider supporting this great event.
Sunstates Security is proud to support the community!
